Last updated: 17 October 2026. Trademark filing involves official fees paid to the CNIPA; here is how refunds work.
The availability search is free. There is nothing to refund, and no obligation to proceed.
If you have paid but we have not yet submitted your application to the CNIPA, our service fee is refundable on request, minus any non-recoverable costs already incurred (for example, urgent translation you authorised).
Once the application is submitted to the CNIPA, the official filing fee is paid to the government and cannot be refunded by us or the CNIPA, whether the mark is accepted, refused, or withdrawn. Our service fee for work already performed is also non-refundable after filing.
These are quoted separately. Fees for a proceeding are earned as the work is done; if you withdraw before we file the相应 submission, we refund the unearned portion at our discretion and after deducting work already performed.
For post-registration services, fees are refundable before the relevant document is submitted to the CNIPA, subject to the same official-fee rule above once submitted.
Email hello@chinatrademarkpro.com with your reference number. Refunds are returned to the original payment method where possible, within a reasonable period after confirmation.
